Preparation And Usage

You will need: 3/4 cup (175 ml) water 1/3 cup (75 ml) butter, melted 2 tsp (10 ml) vanilla extract 2 eggs DO NOT EAT RAW CAKE BATTER 1 Heat oven to 350°F (180°C) for shiny metal pan or 325°F (160°C) for dark or nonstick pan. Grease bottom only of pan (use paper baking cups for cupcakes). 2 Beat cake mix, water, butter, vanilla and eggs in large bowl on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes (or beat with whisk until well blended), scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan. 3 Bake as directed below or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting. Pan size: 8" x 8" (20 x 20 cm); bake time: 34 - 39 min Pan size: 9" x 9" (23 x 23 cm); bake time: 31 - 36 min Pan size: 8" or 9" round (20 or 23 cm); bake time: 39 - 44 min Pan size: 12 cupcakes; bake time: 16 - 21 min To prepare with vegetable oil, make batter using 3/4 cup water, 1/3 cup oil, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and 2 eggs.
