Ingredients

  • 160 g butter (2/3 cup), at room temperature
  • 120 g granulated sugar (1/2 cup)
  • 120 g brown sugar (3/4 cup)
  • 5 g turmeric (2 tsp)
  • 2 eggs
  • 320 g all-purpose flour (2 cups)
  • 3 g salt (1 tsp)
  • 2 g baking soda (1/2 tsp)
  • 225 g dark chocolate chips (8 oz)

Directions

  1. Step 1

    In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for 2–3 minutes, until light and fluffy.

    Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition.
  3. Step 3

    In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking soda, and turmeric. Sift together, then gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

    Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips.

    Using an ice cream scoop, portion the dough into balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

    Chill the cookie dough balls in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

    Preheat the oven to 360°F (180°C). Bake the cookies for 15 minutes, or until golden around the edges.
