Healthy Grilled Turkey Burgers

Ingredients
- 500g Extra Lean Ground Turkey
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried onion flakes or onion powder
- 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup real mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 small clove garlic, crushed
- 2 tablespoons basil, finely chopped
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 avocado, pitted and sliced thick
- 1/2 cup deli sprouts
- 4 sliced rounds of red or white onion (or both)
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh spinach
Directions
Step 1
Preheat barbecue or grill to medium.Step 2
In a large bowl, add turkey, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and barbecue sauce. and mix well with clean hands to combine.Step 3
Using your hands, form 4 burger patties about 1 inch thick and 4 inches in diameter.Step 4
Place turkey burger patties on the grill for 10 minutes, then flip and grill another 5 minutes until browned and cooked to a minimum of 165°F internal temperature.Step 5
Meanwhile, prepare the aioli: In a small bowl combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic and basil. Mix well and set in the fridge to chill.Step 6
Remove turkey burger patties from the grill and assemble burgers.Step 7
Spread 1 heaping tablespoon of Lemon Garlic Basil Aioli over 1/2 of each sliced bun (toast buns ahead of time if preferred), then top with 1 cooked turkey burger patty.Step 8
Layer on avocado, sprouts, sliced onion, tomato and spinach.Step 9
Enjoy with a side salad, baked fries, or on its own!
