A sweet and indulgent fondue made with maple syrup, perfect for pairing with fresh fruits or waffles for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) milk
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) butter
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) maple butter (optional)
  • 1/2 tbsp (7.5 ml) maple flakes (optional)

Directions

  1. Step 1

    In a small saucepan off the heat, whisk the maple syrup and cornstarch until smooth.
  2. Step 2

    Add the milk and stir.
  3. Step 3

    Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring regularly.
  4. Step 4

    Once boiling, cook for 1 minute, stirring until thickened. Remove from heat.
  5. Step 5

    Stir in the butter until melted.
  6. Step 6

    Optionally, garnish with a drizzle of maple butter, brown sugar or maple flakes.
  7. Step 7

    Serve with fresh fruits and waffles if desired.
  8. Step 8

    TIP: Keeps for 2 days in the refrigerator. Do not freeze.
