Preparation And Usage
You will Need
FOR DOUBLE CRUST PIE
1 pouch
1 cup butter
2 eggs
2 tsp. white vinegar
2 tbsp. cold water
FOR SINGLE CRUST PIE
1¼ cups mix
½ cup butter
1 egg
1 tsp. white vinegar
1 tbsp. cold water
Directions for Double Crust
Prep
Preheat oven to 205°C (400°F).
Mix
Using pastry blender, cut butter into pie crust mix until mixture resembles a coarse crumb.
In a glass measuring cup, add water, vinegar and eggs. Whisk together until combined. Then gradually add liquid mixture into dry mix, stir with fork until dough is combined and holds together. Form into 2 balls.
Roll
Roll out each portion on well floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.
Roll onto 9 inch pie pan, pressing firmly on bottom and side. Trim edges to leave 1 inch overhang.
Pour filling into crust. Place top crust over filling, pressing on rim to seal. Trim edge and flute. Bake as directed in your favorite recipe.
For Single Baked Crust: Prick bottom and side thoroughly with fork. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden. Fill baked crust according to recipe directions.
