Delicious pancakes
Tasty and easy to prepare
1 cup/250 ml all-purpose flour
1 tbsp./15 ml granulated sugar
1/2 tsp./2.5 ml salt
1/2 tsp./2.5 ml baking soda
1 egg
1 cup/250 ml cultured buttermilk
2 tbsp./30 ml melted butter
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the egg and cultured buttermilk. Add to dry ingredients, stirring until smooth. Add the butter and gently mix. Ladle the batter and cook on lightly oiled griddle or frying pan. When air bubbles form on surface, turn and cook for about 1 minute or until golden brown. Serve with syrup and fresh fruit.
Tip: for thinner pancakes, stir in up to 1/4 cup (60 ml) more cultured buttermilk.
