all you need:
- vegetable oil for frying
- half bag (about 1 cup / 250 ml) Tempura Batter Mix
- 3/4 cup (175 mL) ice cold water
- 2 lb (1 kg] fresh or thawed seafood, vegetables or fish, cut into chunks and patted dry
Makes 8 servings
all you do:
1. Preheat vegetable oil in deep fryer or preheat 1/2-inch (1-cm) vegetable oil in a skillet on medium-high heat.2. Whisk together batter mix and water in a medium bowl until smooth.3. Dip seafood, vegetables or fish in batter. Tap gently on side of bowl to remove excess batter.4. Deep fry or pan fry, several at a time, for 2-3 minutes, turning as needed until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towel.
Must be cooked for food safety
tip:
Whisk together 1 full bag Tempura Batter Mix and 1-1/2 cups (375 mL) water until smooth. Will coat 4.4 lb (2 kg) seafood or vegetables.
