Cooking & Usage Tips
Jams: makes 5-7 jars of 250 ml (1 cup)
875 ml (3 ½ cups) crushed fruit
1 pack (900 g) Lantic & Rogers Jam & Jelly Mix
30 ml (2 tbsp) lemon juice
Stove top directions: mix ingredients thoroughly in a saucepan (4 litres). Bring to a boil and keep boilingfor 4 minutes. Stir constantly. Remove from stove, stir and skim for 5 minutes. Pour into sterilized jars and fill up to 1 cm from the top. Seal and label.
Microwave directions: mix all ingredients thoroughly in a microwavable dish. Cook uncovered for about 20 minutes on high or until the mix is boiling. Stir every 5 minutes. When at a boil, cook for 1 minute on high. Remove from microwave, stir and skim for 5 minutes. Sterilized jars should be filled up to 1 cm from the top. Seal and label.
Jelly: makes 5-6 jars of 250 ml (1 cup)
- 750 ml (3 cups) of unsweetened juice
- 1 pack (900 g) Lantic & Rogers Jam & Jelly Mix
- 50 ml (1/5 cup) of lemon juice
Mix all ingredients as described above (stove or microwave directions).
Test for gelling: in a cold saucer (chilled in the freezer), drop a small amount of boiling mixture and return the saucer to the freezer. Wait 1 minute and check if gelled. If not, continue to boil. Retest every two minutes.
