In 1962 an English pub owner named Leopold Kerr invented a treat to serve his patrons in an effort to entice them to consumer more ale. It was a sausage covered in spicy dough, fried and mounted on a stick. Leopold soon realized that he had a great product, and moved to Canada with the dream of commercializing it. He started by creating his signature batter and selling it to restaurants, but in an effort to maintain a consistent taste he eventually created a ready-made battered sausage. This snack has maintained it’s popularity over the years and can be found in many establishments across Canada today!

Barbecue - From Frozen
FOR A CRISPIER DOUGH:
Defrost POGO® 16 hours in refrigerator or in microwave on defrost setting for 90 seconds before cooking on barbecue. Preheat barbecue. Place POGO® directly on barbecue grill. Cook for 5 minutes on low setting. Turn at mid-time.

FOR A CRISPIER DOUGH:
150 °C (300 °F) - Deep fry from frozen for 8 minutes.
Microwave - From Frozen
FOR A TENDER DOUGH:
MICROWAVE: From frozen, Zap POGO® on high power for 60 seconds. Turn at mid-time. Add 20 seconds for each additional POGO®.

FOR A TENDER DOUGH:
TOASTER OVEN: 150 °C (300 °F) - Bake from frozen for 27 minutes.
FOR A CRISPIER DOUGH:
TOASTER OVEN: 205 °C (400 °F) - Bake from frozen for 18 minutes.
Oven cook - From Frozen
FOR A TENDER DOUGH:
150 °C (300 °F) - Bake from frozen for 25 minutes.
FOR A CRISPIER DOUGH:
205 °C (400 °F) - Bake from frozen for 15 minutes.
