STOVE TOP DIRECTIONS Yield: 5 cups (1.25 L) prepared. Ingredients: Rice vermicelli mix, 1 packet special seasonings, 500 mL (2 cups) water, 30 mL (2 tbsp) margarine, 500 mL (2 cups) canned tomatoes. Method: In large pan, combine rice vermicelli mix and 2 tablespoons (30 mL) margarine or butter. Cook over medium heat until vermicelli is golden brown, stirring frequently. Slowly stir in 2 cups (500 mL) water, special seasonings and 2 cups (500 mL) canned tomatoes; stir and bring to a boil. Cover; reduce heat to low. Simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
